I began my career in art following my father’s footsteps, as a sign painter.  I lettered highway billboards, trucks, cars and racers, designed logos and agonized through architectural renderings.  In the evenings I drew and painted for myself.  Fanciful images, with shadows and shape and lives of their own.  I love vivid color, so flowers always delight me with their subtleties of colors within colors.  From flowers I began to enhance the colors in other images to my great delight and enjoyment.  Dogs, people, landscapes, fruit; I found if I stared at my subject long enough, wonderful colors appeared in them.

 

I want my paintings to make people smile.  I like to exaggerate the natural world by enhancing its color whenever I can.
